REVOLUTION AMONG ARTISTS
It has become increasingly clear that many artists invest significant energy and passion into their creations, yet see little or no return from their efforts. This has led some to reflect deeply on how they can transform their art into a sustainable livelihood and gain international recognition.
Numerous challenges have emerged in the creative space; Some artists produce powerful works that never go beyond their personal archives. Others see their creations reach wider audiences but receive no compensation. Many fade into obscurity without ever having the chance to explore alternative paths to sustain themselves through their talents.
In response to these issues, Jayden the Raper and DJ Ruti, in collaboration with the Huye Artist Federation, have launched a transformative initiative. This project will unite interested artists both local and international across various disciplines including music, film, literature, comedy, fashion, and more.
Main Objective
The initiative seeks to combat and prevent the unauthorized use of creative works for personal gain, commonly known as piracy, while also empowering artists to benefit directly from their own creations.
Program Overview
🎵 Music Selection Phase
May 1 – June 30, 2025
Ten outstanding songs will be selected based on originality and the strength of their message.
These will form part of a multi-artist collaborative album. Two additional songs will be co-created by participants and added to the album.
Visual and Fashion Arts Selection
Creative works in the fashion domain will be considered, especially those showcasing self-designed clothing, creativity, and uniqueness. Eligible art forms include: Drawings, Sculptures Carvings, Weavings, and other innovative fashion-related works.
📖 Literature and Illustrated Stories
Short written works will be selected, particularly: Stories for both youth and adults, Writings that promote emotional healing and mindset transformation, illustrated pieces (realistic or abstract), including animated short stories and printed versions.
Exhibition and Final Showcase
📅 July 1 – November 30, 2025
This phase will focus on refining and showcasing the selected works, public exhibitions and creative sales opportunities, promotion campaigns to increase visibility.
A final year-end celebration to showcase artistic achievements across all disciplines. This initiative aims to support the development and self-reliance of artists, help unknown talents gain exposure, promote the professional growth of established artists, protecting them from career decline.
The program will begin in Huye District, but participants are welcome from all regions, and already, six submissions have been received, including some from international contributors.
